176 Victoria Police members made the ultimate sacrifice - will you help honour their legacy?
Across Victoria, 176 members of Victoria Police have died in the line of duty—each one making the ultimate sacrifice in service to their community. As part of our ongoing commitment to remembering those who served, Police Veterans Victoria (PVV) is proud to take on the responsibility of managing and maintaining the memorial graves of these fallen members.
But we can’t do it alone. We’re calling on our police veterans community to ‘Adopt a Grave’—a simple yet powerful way to ensure these resting places are cared for and never forgotten. By volunteering to maintain a grave, you’ll help preserve the memory of a life given in service, and ensure their story continues to be honoured.
This is more than maintenance—this is legacy and it’s about making sure they are never forgotten – if you can spare a small amount of time, we invite you to stand with us and those who gave everything.
How can you help?
- Review the list and help us fill in any gaps on the register – E: contact@policeveterasnvic.org.au
- Adopt a grave – this is simply nominating a gravesite that you are prepared to visit and help ensure it remains in good condition – this includes cleaning and weeding and kit if needs repairing let us know and we can take it from there. E: contact@policeveterasnvic.org.au
- Donate to a fund that will pay for maintenance and repairs – we have access to a limited pool of funds that are directed to repairing the graves of Kennedy, Scanlon and Lonigan at Mansfield Cemetary.
