Sharing the stories and experiences of police veterans, helping the broader community better understand the challenges faced after service and the importance of continued support. - Supports key campaigns and events
Standing alongside Police Veterans Victoria through major campaigns, initiatives and fundraising events that directly support veterans and their families. - Uses their voice and platform to support veterans
Leveraging their public profile, networks and influence to highlight the work of PVV and encourage community involvement. - Represents continued service beyond the badge
Demonstrating that service to the police family and the community does not end when the uniform comes off.

Rick Nugent is the Founding Ambassador of Police Veterans Victoria (PVV), bringing decades of leadership, experience and advocacy to the organisation’s mission of supporting police veterans and their families. A highly respected figure within Victoria Police, Rick served for more than three decades, culminating in senior leadership roles and earning widespread recognition for his commitment to policing and the welfare of those who serve. As PVV’s first ambassador, Rick plays an important role in helping elevate awareness of the challenges police veterans can face after leaving the job. Drawing on his own experience in policing, he advocates for stronger recognition, support and connection for veterans across the police family.
