Where is PVV headed in 2024?

As we enter the new year, we reflect on the year that was for PVV; full of growth, change, motivation. We start 2024 eager to carry on the momentum we’ve built and bring our members, supporters and partners as many exciting new things as we can.

So, what does PVV have in store for 2024?

Canines & Coffee Walk – Sunday 3rd March

Get your best runners on, grab your dog leashes and come find PVV at the Port Melbourne Dog Beach for a fun-filled day of dogs, coffee, and (hopefully) some sunshine.

Who doesn’t love coffee AND dogs?

From 11am, PVV with the help of 3zeros Coffee will be slinging barista quality coffee from the PVV Coffee Van to get you started on your stroll. Making a guest appearance is the Victoria Police K9 unit as well as a few of the lovable pooches from the Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP).

We want to see as many of your beloved pets as possible – we don’t think there’s such a thing as too many dogs. Let’s get some sun on our backs, coffee in our hands and a bit of fun and laughter with friends, old and new.

The Canines & Coffee Walk is proudly supported by the team at Bunnings Warehouse.

The PVV Corporate Luncheon – Wednesday 29 May

After a highly successful two luncheons, the PVV Corporate Luncheon is back in 2024 at the Crown Palladium for a day dedicated to honouring our everyday heroes; our police veterans, who have made invaluable contributions to their communities.

The PVV Corporate Lunch is our major fundraising event and our chance to raise awareness of our cause as well as much-needed funds, so we can continue the incredibly important work of supporting the police veteran community.

MC’d by renowned comedian and actor Lawrence Mooney, you can expect a day of laughter, tears, inspiration and excitement for what’s to come for PVV, as well as an incredible performance by Sonic Assault (made up of veteran and serving members).

We have strong support for this event but always need more. Tables are $2000 a table and ticket sales will begin in February. Watch this space!

We’ve dedicated ourselves to providing an even better first-class experience at the PVV Corporate Luncheon this year, with a few surprises up our sleeves that we’re sure will amaze everyone.

The PVV Kokoda Trek – August

The PVV Kokoda Trek is the opportunity of a lifetime. A brand-new joint venture brought to you by PVV, Kokoda Courage and ESPA, the PVV Kokoda Trek is shaping up to be one of our biggest events of the season and PVV’s next step.

The trek will be made up of 6 sponsored participants who we recently chose and contacted. We were blown away with the sheer volume of applicants for this event and the stories we had the privilege to hear.

This challenging journey through the rugged terrain of Papua New Guinea will test the physical and mental abilities of our trekkers, whilst also honouring the sacrifices of those who fought in World War II. It will be the ultimate test of character and strength.

Social events

We want 2024 to be the year of getting together.

We want this year to be the year our members reconnect, make new connections, catch-up, wind down, and get talking. We know of the incredible value of socialisation and we’d love for this to be something we really nourish in 2024.

This is our official Bat signal; if you’ve got an event, we want to advertise it! If you’ve got an idea, we want to help make it a reality.

Get in touch with us. We’d love to help.

Key supporters

As part of PVV’s next step, we’re working on establishing a national model. Work is underway to establish Police Veterans Queensland (PVQ), with the goal of Police Veterans organisations in every State and Territory to support police veterans across Australia.
