PVV is honoured to have attended a moving dedication service held on Saturday at The Victoria Police Academy, to salute the 134 serving Victoria Police members that were conscripted for National Service in Vietnam between 1964 to 1972.
Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police Shane Patton at the service unveiled an Honour Board, to those who were serving in the Victoria Police at the time they were called up.
It was poignant to see these members recognised for their service and to see hundreds of proud family members in attendance, some wearing the medals of their descendants.
We’d like to congratulate Gordon Beach Supt (Ret), Dr Ray Shuey (Ret A/C) and Ivan Ray Insp (Ret), along with the Victoria Police Academy for such an important day. We’d also like to thank CCP Shane Patton for the acknowledgement of PVV on the day.
To all 134 members, we say thankyou.
Lest We Forget.
